Co-design sessions

We want to shape the content of this gathering together with the people who will be in the room.

What do we propose?

We want everyone attending Civitates Forum to get the maximum possible benefit from this unique opportunity. With this is in mind, we are proposing two co-design sessions in October (same content, different weeks, choose what fits your life) with potential participants. Each session will provide 90 minutes to dig into:

  • What would make this gathering genuinely useful for your work?

  • What conversations are you craving with fellow changemakers across Europe?

  • What opportunities can't we afford to miss?

These sessions will be led by our external facilitation team [Katus, Osi and Tamas - see below] to create an open space where all ideas are welcome. Please note: co-design sessions are open to Grantee Partners only.

What will you need to do?

We don’t know how much bandwidth you have for shaping this event. Maybe you’re stretched thin and just want us to create something solid. Maybe you’re itching to help design it. Both are completely valid.

After these sessions, we will loop in the broader community to make sure we’re hearing from everyone, then decide how to move forward with the program design.

Bottom line: Your input now directly shapes what happens in March. Without it, we’re guessing at what matters most to you and your work.

Who will you work with?

Our team of facilitators have extensive experience in designing large-scale participatory gatherings across diverse contexts – particularly with organisations working toward social change and democratic participation.

Katalin Bartos brings proven expertise in participatory democracy through her key facilitation role in Hungary's first Citizens' Assemblies. Her experience with Art of Hosting methodologies and multi-stakeholder civic engagement makes her ideally suited for navigating the diverse perspectives across Civitates' three sub-funds.

Oswald König combines extensive experience in large-scale European collaboration through his co-founding of collaboratio helvetica and leadership roles in multi-regional Swiss initiatives like Connexa Helvetica. He brings essential skills for facilitating authentic dialogue across power dynamics inherent in funder-grantee relationships.

Tamás Hovanyecz brings strategic facilitation expertise from designing and facilitating Greenpeace's global climate and oceans strategy meetings, successfully managing 4-day processes with 80+ activists from all five continents while navigating complex power dynamics and diverse cultural perspectives.
